ELAINE COSGROVE was born in Sligo in 1985. Transmissions, her debut collection of poems was published by Dedalus Press in 2017, and was shortlisted by Theo Dorgan for the dlr 2018 Shine Strong Award. Her work has been published in The Stinging Fly, Trumpet, The Penny Dreadful and New Binary Press. Her poems have been translated into Italian and featured on Inkroci’s online magazine. Elaine’s work has been selected for the Eyewear Fifty Best New British & Irish Poets Anthology, listed for the London Magazine Poetry Prize and the Gregory O‘Donoghue International Poetry Prize. Transmissions has been favourably reviewed in Poetry Ireland Review, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Irish Times, The Manchester Review, and been featured in The Irish Examiner, RTÉ Radio 1's The Poetry Programme and Arena arts show. Elaine Cosgrove has a BA in English, Sociology & Political Science from NUI, Galway and an MPhil in Creative Writing from Trinity College, Dublin. She lived and worked in Galway City for almost 15 years. She worked at a regional support organisation to the community & voluntary sector, and as an assistant to the NUIG International Writers’ Programme and NUIG Irish Studies Summer Programme.
