ELAINE COSGROVE was born in Sligo in 1985. Transmissions, her debut collection of poems was published by Dedalus Press in 2017, and was shortlisted by Theo Dorgan for the dlr 2018 Shine Strong Award. Her work has been published in The Stinging FlyTrumpetThe Penny Dreadful and New Binary Press, and been translated into Italian for Inkroci magazine. Elaine’s work has been selected for the Eyewear Fifty Best New British & Irish Poets Anthology, listed for the London Magazine Poetry Prize and the Gregory O‘Donoghue International Poetry Prize. Transmissions has been favourably reviewed in Poetry Ireland ReviewLos Angeles Review of BooksThe Irish Times, The Manchester Review, and been featured in The Irish Examiner, RTÉ Radio 1's The Poetry Programme and Arena arts show. Elaine Cosgrove has a BA in English, Sociology & Political Science and an MPhil in Creative Writing. She lived and worked in Galway City for almost 15 years at a regional support agency to the community & voluntary sector, and as a summer assistant to the University of Galway International Writers’ and Irish Studies Programmes. Elaine immigrated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2019 where she lives with her husband and dog.
